Whew, made it through another election cycle. Looks like the 9th District will pick between Marcy Kaptur and Samuel Wurzelbacher, aka Joe, the Plumber. Who would have ever thought the first time we saw Mr. Wurzelbacher on TV as "Joe the Plumber" that we would soon have a chance to vote on him for our representative in Congress! America is a beautiful place. It is refreshing to see more and more people get involved in politics. Right here in Lakewood I hear of more and more people wanting to run for council, for school board, for mayor. I believe there is a renaissance coming in American and local politics. It should be a good fall election.

Lakewood is ready to emerge from a light winter sleep. As always it will be interesting to see how we have changed over this light slumber.
