Re: Calanni Loses His Appeal
This is good news. That Callani lot always looked trashy due to having all those cars packed on the lot. If you look at any car repair facility in Lakewood or elsewhere for that matter it will only have a few cars parked overnight for the next day's work or for those customers who have dropped the car off for next day repair.
I think one possible reason for all those cars is that Callani would lure a customer in for a supposed cheap repair, in some cases paid for by a County program, only to have the cost escalate beyond affordability.
Many times I would listen to a Lakewood Police Dispatcher ask for an Officer to respond to Callani's while a customer picked up a car or was in a dispute.
Great f****** way to run a business.

He is a con artist. He totally ripped us off a few years ago and I wish we would have sued. He doesn't do a written estimate-that is part of his con-he tells you it is one thing and then holds your car hostage basically to fix a problem with a much bigger cost. I think we lost two grand to him and then had to junk the car because nothing was fixed. We were just too busy to go after him legally but I regret it. I have also heard horror stories of customers, especially women who he did that too. When you need your car to take your kids or go to work and some bleepard does that it is beyond words.

No personal experience, but Wink from Winks Barber Shop has some fascinating stories. Maybe i will actually be able to park close to the shop when I get my next haircut...Calanni keeps the streets nearby filled with his cars. The lot in front is only the tip of the iceberg.
well, actually after looking at the ruling it could mean that MORE cars get put into the street. never mind ...

I drove by Calanni's the other day. The parking lot was jammed. Apparently the courts opinion was just an opinion and not a requirement that Calanni actually do anything differently.
