The City of Westlake is seeking to change its water supplier from Cleveland to Avon Lake:

The official reason is that it would save the City money.
There is an old saying that if someone says it's NOT about the money then it IS about the money.
I think it also true to say that if someone says it's about the money then it's not really just about the money. What is it about?
Why is it that the big regional insitution (Cleveland Water Department) is more expensive and less efficient?
I thought regionalism was the answer?
Is Westlake part of our region or someone else's region? I thought we were just one big happy family?

Re: Westlake
it is smart for Westlake to divorce itself from Cuyahoga County, i.e., Cleveland, as thoroughly as possible. If possible, most westside cleveland neighborhoods should de-annex from Cleveland also. This is the only way to get rid of the CMHA and school administration.
