All

Here we are at the end of another year. Once again we will be skipping printing the last paper of the year to give everyone connected to this project a much needed break, and a chance to relax and be with the ones they love. One of the real beauties of a project like this is that it allows us to catch our breath between issues, and to sit back and really think about what is important to us, our friends and our neighbors.

It is moments like this that make me so glad that the Observer takes a more relaxed view of the community than the Plain Dealer and even the Sun. Projects like that are so harried to get news out, sometimes they end up with nothing more than a flow of meaningless crime drivel that takes more away from a city than adds to it. When we got this started some people demanded a Police Blotter, we always laughed and said,"We are here to build and define a Lakewood brand, not to sell papers, not to get the most eyes. We are here to help the community, not hurt it."

Today so many papers and sites seem to only care about the bad news. We just care about the people, the businesses and the community. So to all of you, from all of us at the Observer, Have A Great Holiday Season!

Peace/Love

DAMN I LOVE THIS CITY!

Take a break, and please read the lyrics below.

And take steps to help those less fortunate than yourself.

Happy Christmas(War Is Over)

Words and Music by John Lennon

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
War is over over
If you want it
War is over
Now...
