I've just been reading about alpacas-- their wool has unique thermal properties-- 5 times warmer than sheep wool-- which means you could buy something and wear it out of the Root because it's 18 degrees right now.
It's really soft and is much less itchy than wool! and alpacas come in 22 natural colors.
There are therapeutic socks that are thin and warm and help with circulation. (And it is a very pleasant buying experience. They're baking something in the kitchen that smells wonderful.)
