How long does it take the City to fix a street light?
Does anyone have any experience getting the City to repair a street lamp that 's out? I reported the outage on the City's website's Report a Problem (http://onelakewood.com/ReportProblem/Default.aspx) on November 16th, with no success. (Street light is directly in front of 1588 Victoria Ave., near Hilliard.)
I just reported it again. It's pitch black near my house, and it's been this way for months now.
What's the expected turnaround on something like this? Not too long ago, I got the City of Cleveland to respond more quickly, and I paid a fraction of the municipal tax!

I begged them to turn mine off. Although they couldn't do that, First energy came out and put tape inside the light and reduced the bulb wattage for me making the light quite a bit dimmer. They came out a few days after I called them.

The City does not direclty maintain the street lighting. First Energy charges the City a flat rate, and they maintain it. Obviously, it is to their advantage for folks not to report outages because they get paid for not providing serivce. Although the City should track outages to make sure we are getting our money's worth for what we pay First Energy, the fastest way to get an individual repair is to report directly to First Energy. They will want a pole number, which should be on a metal tag on the pole (sometimes they are missing) and the best location, street address, where the pole is located. I'm no First Energy fan, but I must say they have been prretty good when I reported an outage.
