Handmade in the 216

Post by michael gill »

Some of you know that for almost the last 3 years, I've been literally making a children's book, with wood blocks and moveable type on a letterpress machine.

Here's hoping you'll join me for my book release party Friday, Dec. 2, at William Busta Gallery.

You can read more about Common Household Rhymes for the Modern Child here http://gyroscopethattakesyouplaces.wordpress.com/2011/11/11/book-lovers-parents-of-smart-kids-join-me-for-drinks/
and here http://gyroscopethattakesyouplaces.wordpress.com/2011/11/24/manufacturing-job/.

Mike's book release party is tonight!

His work is beautiful and fun-- it's rare to get a chance to see it like this, so come on out tonight, it's not far. Downtown (Cleveland) is probably decorated for Christmas,
you can see it on the way.

Here's the story in this week's Lakewood Observer in case you haven't had a chance to see it.

Michael,

Fabulous Show, great work, good book!

You really should stop down and see the work, and possibly pick up a couple. The framed works
are beautifully done, and can be purchased individually or by the rhyme, and they have
copies of the book there as well. Though only 100 were hand printed, and were flying out of the
place I am sure you can still get one for that special friend that loves, books, and art.

Michael, well done, great turnout.

Thanks, Jim, and everyone who came out. I had a ball showing people my prints. I think I looked like that picture most of the time!
