Finally Our Security Protected Against Google!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Well, maybe not. It is Microsoft coming to our rescue!

While it looks like the "Google Car"... See link below.

While this looks like the business end of a Google Map car. It is not. This is much more
complex. This is used for the next level of GPS imaging. It is tied into all sorts of other
things that allow the vehicle carrying it to create 3D maps, and scans of a city's streets.
That is right a real 3D experience just like driving down the street. You can walk around buildings!

This is the NAVTEQ/bing car. Their tag line is "Two great companies working together "
"We're creating a great view of this world and protecting your corner of it." According to
the driver and brochures I have found. It automatically blanks out license plates, and
faces as it records the images. They go on to say that of the rare event of any of this or
anything that upsets a person occurs, they can call, email, whatever and the image will
be addressed immediately.

Even the wheels measure crown of the road, height, substrate, etc.

It is pretty wild, and has to be very expensive that Microsoft is taking on Google, just
for our own security and peace of mind.

On the flip side, the guy has been staying I Lakewood while doing the Westside of
Cleveland, and loves the city and our hotel.

Microsoft, huh?

I wonder if that VW needs to download a "critical" security update almost daily like my Microsoft Office.

Used to be the heart of town.
Don't tell me this town ain't got no heart.
You just gotta poke around.
