Lakewood Represents At Occupy Cleveland Riots!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

The word riots is probably overplayed here. While there was some chanting, unrest, sign carrying,
shouting and arrests, it seemed like a softer, gentler kind of a "Stop The Man" riot.

Here are a couple images, with some Lakewoodites in some.

Image
Protesters, onlookers, media on Public Square.

Image
Protesters line up, refusing to leave the park. This was about 9:50pm

Image

Image
Crowd around an inner circle at about 10:10pm

Image
The police move in asking everyone to leave the park.

Image
About 10:20 all that is left on the grass are the 10 protesters, their shadows,
and Lakewoodite Sam Phillips from Liberation Brews TV on the left.

Image
And then the arrests started.

Image
Grandmother arrested. 10 people in all. The same 10 from the inner circle.

Image
As the crowd marched off to the Justice Center I got Councilman Brian J. Cummins and
Urban Farmer and Organizer Timothy Smith to pose for a picture.

nothing says "Stop The Man!" like holding your white iPhone up in protest.

Here's whats just great.

Many of us are working on trying to stop the Kasich administration from steamrolling over safety forces right to negotiate contracts and these guys are arresting our friends and neighbors for excercising their first amendment rights.

Remember that movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy"? Even though this has nothing to do with the movie, the words are appropriate.

A little Doobie Bros. "Taking it To the Streets" please.

Just a little note from working America to parasite America from a Chicago trader:

"Go ahead and continue to take us down, but you’re only going to hurt yourselves. What’s going to happen when we can’t find jobs on the Street anymore? Guess what: We’re going to take yours. We get up at 5am & work until 10pm or later. We’re used to not getting up to pee when we have a position. We don’t take an hour or more for a lunch break. We don’t demand a union. We don’t retire at 50 with a pension. We eat what we kill, and when the only thing left to eat is on your dinner plates, we’ll eat that."

From ABC news:

"At a million-dollar San Francisco fundraiser today, President Obama warned his recession-battered supporters that if he loses the 2012 election it could herald a new, painful era of self-reliance in America."

Self reliance! Oh the horror of it all!

Bill, your quotes imply that this is Obama's words. Actually, that was the liberal media interpreting his comments. This is what he actually said:

“If you get sick, you’re on your own. If you can’t afford college, you’re on your own. If you don’t like that some corporation is polluting your air or the air that your child breathes, then you’re on your own.”

Healthcare, student loans, corporate responsibility to the environment. Pretty standard Obama fare. Where's the news?

Stinking liberal media. Somebody make it stop.

Here is the actual ABC link.
