Home Invasion! Suspects Caught!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

On October 13, 2011 at 12:23AM, the Lakewood Police Department responded to the report of a Burglary in progress at 1233 Elbur. Investigation revealed three suspects entered the home through an unlocked window and confronted with a gun, a homeowner sleeping on the couch. The homeowner was tied up on the couch and the suspects proceeded to steal items from the home. The homeowner was able to free herself and fled to a neighbors home where she called the Lakewood Police Department. Responding officers found the suspects had fled the scene. All three were subsequently arrested in the surrounding area. The weapon used and property stolen was recovered. Additional property recovered led the officers to an unreported burglary they had committed at 12911 Lake Ave. earlier in the evening.

Arrested are Darrick Jones, 19, of 3177 W38th, Cleveland
Robert Harder Jr., 19, of 4214 W63rd, Cleveland
Erick Stewart II, 21, of 1912 W 71st, Cleveland

Lakewood Police Department Detectives are continuing the investigation into these and other possible crimes committed by these suspects.

Tip of the hat to the "homeowner"--- tremendous courage and composure.
Hate to have that individual giving testimony in a Court if I was one of those dipsh**s

And, what we expect of our excellent police force.

Ugh. Am I supposed to hope these were the alleged burglars that were in our home? If they were, I'm glad we didn't meet.

WOW Good Job to all. On a side note are you sure we can't start profiling people who look like they are home invaders? I mean come on...

Remember to ALWAYS lock first floor windows and doors when you retire. Have motion lights or leave some exterior lights on to eliminate shadows. Immediately report suspicious persons or activity.

I suspect Cleveland isn't collecting their trash, otherwise it would not wind up in Lakewood.

Jim,

From what I can tell by the photos of these alleged home invaders, we should be on the lookout for people wearing orange shirts and pants.

Excellent advice Ed! I installed a motion controlled switch for our front porch light a few years ago. As someone walks up our walk or drive the front porch light turns on. It was a pretty easy install. I mounted the battery operated motion detector on the porch and swapped out the indoor switch.
