Hi all,
I saw Matt's reminder, thought I'd give this its own thread. The Lakewood Council of PTAs has worked hard to put this together. From what I've heard, all of the candidates: Greg Calleri, Kristine Pagsuyoin, Tom Einhouse, Linda Beebe, Emma Petrie-Barcelona and Bill Call will be there. What a great opportunity to get to know them better. Thank you Lakewood Council of PTAs.

Re: Meet The School Board Candidates Night TONIGHT Garfield
Well, some are saying it was a Love Fest. Brett Callentine as the moderator was OUTSTANDING. And it's the first forum I've ever attended where the audience actually gasped at a question, which was..."Now that each of you have had a chance to hear the others, if you had to pick the two others to be on the Board with you, who would you choose?"
Much waffling and embracing of all good people on the dais was heard. Only two candidates actually answered the question. Bill Call said he would prefer to serve with Kristine Pagsuyoin, because of her focus on Lakewood's children and with Linda Beebe because of her experience. And Emma Barcelona said she would pick to serve with Linda Beebe, and Tom Einhouse, though right now I'm not remembering what her reasons were though I know they were complimentary.
There will be fuller coverage in the Observer next week, and more in this thread tomorrow.
It was good fun, and a good introduction to the season. If wolves could be heard howling outside over the absence of Matt Markling, it suited the occasion.
Thank you so much Christina, and the council of PTAs, all the candidates and all of the readers and residents who submitted questions. Good job.

Good Morning,
Thanks everyone for supporting Lakewood Council of PTAs Meet the Candidates night last night. Many people throughout Lakewood came together to make the forum possible.
That group effort continues as dvds of the evening will be available for viewing through Lakewood Public Library, as well as online streaming through the Library's website. Other screening venues are possible, and once I know more specifics, I will post them here.
Thanks again to everyone who came out, from the candidates themselves to those who submitted questions and came to hear the conversation.
We are fortunate to live in a city where things like this are possible and actually happen.

I have to second that. This forum was handled better than some presidential debates I've watched.

Yes, thank you. It was a great opportunity for all of the candidates. I loved the lightening round! Brett, you did a great job.
