Decent auto body work, good prices, in/near Lakewood

Post by Mike Zannoni »

Does anyone know of a decent auto body shop in or near Lakewood? One with reasonable prices?

What's our experiences out there? (Good and bad.)

Much appreciated.

Miracle Auto Body, tucked away on Lakewood Avenue, just north of Detroit. Owner is Lakewood resident Jim Mossburger.

Miracle Auto Body. When my new car got busted by a shopping cart (thank you Target) my insurance company said to go there. OMG my car looked amazing. They even cleaned the inside of my car. WHOO HOO!!!! And they were so nice. It took a long time to get parts for my car (slow boat from Germany thanks to Volkswagen) but once the part came in, it took no time to fix it. The owner even took me to Hertz to pick up my car, made sure he went over it with the hertz worker and sat with me to make sure I knew how to work it.

Mike

I have seen really good work come out of Miracle.

If the car is German and has metallic paint, Lossman Motors Body is pretty damn good at
matching colors.

I guess I am the only one who didn't have a stellar experience with Miracle. Jim is a great guy, but I wasn't happy with the work his shop did for me three years ago. It pains me to say because he is a good guy and he has done good work for other people, obviously. I felt I needed to be honest about that recommendation, though.

I had to take it back multiple times to fix the mechanical issue and finally gave up and took it to the dealer.

The paint job wasn't great either. In fact, I need to go check the paperwork to see how long he warranties his paint work for because I want to bring it back to get fixed. I've got a hologram and orange peel on the door he resprayed for me.

I've heard good things about Lossman, but I have never used them.

We used Lossman when my husband was hit a couple years ago. Both passenger side doors and the front quarter panel needed to be replaced. The work was done quickly and you can't tell the car ever repaired. I would recommend their work.

Thank you all! I had a truly little fender bender out on the street in front of my house, and am trying to get the other party to get a few estimates from local body people (and not just "The Dealer").

I'll refer her to Miracle and Lossman now.

Sorry to hear about your experience with Miracle, Valerie. (I would take it back and show him, for sure.)

But it's a very small area to repair on this girl's car (not like a door panel). So if, say, Elvis should appear in the repair, it would be a tiny Elvis.
