Jordan’s Family Foundation’s 2nd Annual Recess ROCKS! will take place on Sunday, September 25th from 1 – 5pm. The event turns Lakewood Park (near Cleveland, Ohio) into a large playground and feature dozens of energizing activities for kids and families to have fun and play while also learning a bit about healthy living.
Our inaugural event last year was attended by more than 2000 guests with over 50 organizations (including the Cleveland CAVS, Cleveland Indians, American Heart Association, Cleveland Clinic and many others) participating in the fun. The event will give elementary and middle school aged kids an opportunity to commit to better health through games and activities while offering parents a host of new ideas for keeping the whole family healthy.
We are seeking your organization’s participation and support in our efforts of making this a successful community event. If your organization would like to become involved and have a presence at our event with a product demonstration and/or booth display, we would like to have you join in the fun. Or, if your organization would like to set up a booth or stand to sell or handout your products we would like to have you join us. We ask that the foods served by your company would be health conscious with nutritional value as healthy living is the theme of the event.
Recess ROCKS! is a heart-healthy and activity-based event and just one way Jordan’s Family Foundation is fighting childhood obesity, which in turn, can lead to heart disease. We are estimating approximately 3000 – 3500 children, along with their families, will take part in the event.
All those in attendance will be given a large menu of options for their day at the “playground” ranging from physical challenges and sports to educational information and nutrition. A portion of Lakewood Park will be divided into activity stations where each station provides an opportunity to quickly engage kids in healthy activities while not detracting from the real purpose of the day – playing. There will also be informational booths set up throughout the event to distribute promotional material about your organization and healthy living.
Ultimately, the goal of Recess ROCKS! is to create a fun environment for families to learn about healthy living and for kids to make a commitment to be healthy while having fun with other kids in the community.
I look forward to working with you in planning and executing Recess ROCKS! presented by Jordan’s Family Foundation. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you for your time and consideration,

My group isn't health oriented, unless you count being slobbered on by puppies "clean" or wait I could market it as the "new green way to clean one's self" ....LOL.

Funny! But technically, walking a dog is a great source of exercise, as I'm sure you know. This is a perfect way to get kids off the couch and active.Missy Limkemann wrote:My group isn't health oriented, unless you count being slobbered on by puppies "clean" or wait I could market it as the "new green way to clean one's self" ....LOL.

As we draw even closer to the event, the response has been great. I would still love to pack the park with even more organizations and companies that would like to get involved.
This year's event is shaping up to be much larger than last year's which had 2000 people in attendance (with 53 organizations participating), maybe we'll hit the 5000 mark!
Hope to have you join the fun,
