I see this all the time. A rocky river cop on lakewood property ticketing people crossing the RR/Lkwd Lake Rd bridge. I have never seen a lakewood cop on the rr side.

This poaching is happening all over. We have given up sovereignty on the East Side, so why not let Rocky River harvest the West Side?

Though I have found out that Rocky River starts 275' after the bridge starts. This means most of the bridge is in Rocky River.

Still, we are getting to the point Lakewood must surely just close our eyes and hope it will not hurt too much, and that
maybe the county, and neighboring towns will send flowers in the morning.

Well, just this morning I noticed a Lakewood motorcycle cop shooting radar north from near Aldi's on Highland Ave.
That might give a nice welcome to our friends and neighbors to the east.

But, in general I think our police have better things to do than set up speedtraps.
Maybe we should have some speed cameras for revenue generators.

It is commonly the law in the US that if you do a crime in one town, the police, in hot pursuit, can pull you over even if you have crossed into another jurisdiction. So if you think you can get away by crossing a border, you have a surprise coming. If you speed in Rocky River, but they don't pull you over until you are in Lakewood, they can ticket you, and your case will go to the Rocky River court.

I have to say that would scenario would be for someone being chased out of Rocky River. This is more akin
to snipe hunting with a bag.

Of course it would be interesting to see if they are more liberal with enforcement against Rocky River residents
than Lakewood or Cleveland?

I think 32% would be fair for Lakewood's take er share on this speed trap.

I do not have the numbers offhand but last time I looked into it these "speed traps" actually are a source of revenue. Off duty officers could volunteer to join the team and the fees collected could even be used for upgraded equipment and things for the office. You do not need very many tickets per hour to generate positive cash-flow.

While I believe the police should not do things just for revenue it is a nice bonus for those that work the shift and any extra money now could be good for the city, PLUS it will potentially help slow down some of the outsiders as they pass through our great city...
