I received from The Lakewood Observer Member Center an email with subject heading
School Board Meeting CANCELLED-Presentation of Award to LO RESCHEDULED for June 20th
and the first line of text "Good afternoon Observers,Tonight's School Board meeting has been cancelled. "
According to Lakewood School this is not true - the meeting is still being held tonight just the presentation to LO is rescheduled.

The Board of Education Meeting last night covered a variety of ceremonial and busness items including the graduation of 20 students from Lakewood City Academy, recognition of Harding's Power fo the Pen, the District's Five Year Forecast, a demonstration of classroom technology by Harding teachers, Recess Rocks, indoor basktball, and many more business items in the various reports.

I was planning on attending until I got the email saying it was cancelled.
Can someone post the new 5 year forecast?

Thanks Kristine. The information provided on the LCS website is not very helpful.
The information provided to the State is more helpful:

It doesn't look like the latest cost cutting efforts are reflected in the State data.
Overall the administration has done a good job under difficult circumstances. However, they haven't done enough.
The City has shown that you can maintain services and CUT expenditures. The schools must do the same. It's not easy, no one wants to do it, it's not fair to a lot of people but it needs to be done.

I don't think that the city or the schools have "maintained" services with the cuts in recent years. Taking my trash to the curb and viewing school newsletters online I can live with. More severe cuts, I am tolerating. Cutting too deep, especially when it comes to safety forces and education, would be difficult to accept.
