A few years ago part of American Splendor was filmed in Lakewood right around the Elmwood Bakery. It was really interesting to see how much is involved in terms of manpower (must have been 70) and general activity and time spent (about 6 hours) just to get about one minute of final film.
This was a scene where Harvey Pecar walked into the bakery. It happened during the 1970s so period cars had to be obtained. And, for the short duration that the cars drove on Madison, year appropriate license plates had to be attached.
