As I have said for a long time...
While I have taken steps for a mayoral run, there will be no official announcement for months. I find it distasteful that our officials seem to be spending more time running for office, then working for the people. We must stop the insanity of 24/7/365 political campaigns, and demand 24/7/365 representation from our political figures! Stay tuned... Jim O'Bryan
When everyone was jumping around and filing, Mike had been in office for almost 30 days.
Hardly time to assess how he would be as mayor. Since then I have had a couple
discussions with him, and others. I would never and would hope others would not run for
public office simply to run, or simply for a job. I personally would have very little interest
in the position if I did not think I brought something different and better to this community.
Mike Summers is a friend for over 40 years, we have much history. I see many things he
is doing that are good, so would I offer an alternative that could be good for Lakewood?
That is the question I am kicking around now. I have taken steps to separate me from
the day to day running of my various businesses, and have an ongoing discussion with
my wife, friends and consultants.
I would also say that Lakewood, deserves debates and discussions in every political race.
So...
...?
Thanks for asking.

Jim,
Just one question: Do you believe in yourself or what?
