Hail damage! Only 6 days left to file!
I was talking with my insurance agent yesterday, and he mentioned anyone that believes they had hail damage in the storm a year ago. Still has 6 days to file a claim, and be part of
the "disaster zone" claim offered by the state.
FWIW

Jim: Two things I learned form our experience with that storm:
First, the average person cannot see the damage by standing in the yard and looking up at your roof. I scheduled the contractor and my insurance adjuster come out at the same time. (A really good idea if you can do it.) They both went on the roof and circled in chaulk areas they found damaged. I could not see anything damaged, but there were plently of circles and they both assured me there was damage. (The chaulk was gone the next rain.)
Second, this storm received the proper designation so, once the work is done, you should be eligible for full replacement value less deductable rather that a depreciated or reduced value due to the age of the roof, etc. The insurance company did not tell me that, the contractor did. When I asked, the insurance company agreed.

Thanks for the info Ed about full replacement value, I am going to pass that along to my husband. As for not being able to see the damage I was floored when I saw the pictures our roofer took, from the ground I couldn't even tell we had damage.

I was very surprised. Our roof looked fine after the storm. By coincidence I was talking to a roofing contractor about damage in another part of town and how lucky I was that I had none. He suggested I have it checked out because it really cannot be seen from the ground.

My husband thought ours was fine too but I insisted that we had it checked out because we do live in an area of the city that received a lot of damage. Our roof looked undamaged but upon further inspection the hail damage was evident, our siding also was damaged. I figure in something like this it's better to be safe than sorry and just get it checked out, I am glad we did.

Just a quick question. What company(s) did you two end up going with?

We ended up going with Craftsmen Restoration, they have been great so far but I should note our work has not been started due to weather and a late start on the whole process. I am keeping my fingers crossed that things will continue to go as smoothly.
