Schools closed, wires down, damage everywhere STAY IN!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

I have been up running around since 4am, taking pictures of the police and fire. This would
be about when they set up the Storm Emergency Response at Station One.

Heavy damage with live wires down. I ran into Matt Markling who was standing in front of
Lincoln School looking at the damage and the wires down.

Although it was odd that it was posted to facebook before it was sent out through robo calls
to the parents. Hmmmm, yet again people thinking everyone is on facebook.

Photos will follow, hundreds of them.

Stay in, stay safe.

The AlertNow call was made prior to the Facebook posting. However, it takes about 15 minutes for the AlertNow system to contact all the phone numbers (more than 4,000) so some may have seen the Facebook posting before receiving their call.

Thanks for answering the question. I had so many calls this morning while out driving around!
Was great seeing you on it so quick this morning too.
Thanks to all that called and continue to call, quick cup of coffee then back out taking
pictures of your storm damage.

Might have saved lives with your prompt attention. I do not ever remember seeing so many
live wires, and branches down all over the city.
