I saw a lot of side-by-side stuff on TV, but those images do a much better job of showing how radically different things are...not just all the missing buildings but the changes to the landscape. The 3rd one from the bottom, Arahama, there's now what I could only speculate is a 40+ foot wide river where there had been a forest.
Kind of makes you feel insignificant...

Those pictures are horrific. This is a monumental tragedy for japan and we don't even know the full scope of the damage yet.
