Lakewood School Board member, Kiwanian, and now ex-member of the Lakewood Police Force.

Ed retired last night at midnight, after serving 37 years, 4 months, 19 days.

Congratulations Ed!

Thank you for the nearly 4 decades of service to this community in so many ways.

I wonder what he will do with all of the time on his hands now?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Read the Ed Favre's interview/story in an upcoming issue of the Lakewood Observer.

Thanks, Jim. The near retirees that were still there when I started said it would go fast. Were they right! Despite those times of trajedy and heartbreak, threat, danger and even fear, it was a great job. The good far outweighed the bad. There is nothing better than public service in a town you love, for people you love.

Congrats Ed!!! I know what you should do next, become a foster family for the rescue, or adopt a puppy. Think of all that spare time you would have to train!!!! LOL.

Enjoy that small "break" you have before off to your next adventure!!!!

As a matter of fact, we will be looking for a dog in late summer. We've had good luck with lab rescues and we are leaning towards another lab.

Congratulations, Ed.
Thank you for your service, and the perspective you've brought
to the School Board as someone trying to take care of the city.
It's nice to hear that you feel that the good far outweighed the bad.

Charlie - Thanks. Never even looked at the meter. Oops, my bad! Actually I was looking to see if Jim was going to get hit standing out in the middle of the street.

Betsy - Thank you. The job can sour people and I have seen some leave bitter. I made up my mind a long time ago that I was not going to let that happen. I think being involved in the community outside the job is key.
