Ever thought about fostering a dog?

Post by Missy Limkemann »

Have you ever thought about fostering a dog short term? Wanna help an animal in need, but don't want the full 15 year commitment? We can use your help.
As you know, the rescue is small, myself and a couple foster homes, but we could always use more help. We are in DIRE need of foster homes. We just took in a litter of 4 husky/shepherd mix puppies and we are being begged to take in a litter of 4 hound mix puppies. These puppies are sweet, cute, playful, but mainly homeless. Without our help, they will be euthanized (and my southern ohio shelters still use the gas chamber) If you want to help, please let me know. We pay for all medical and will help with any supplies we can. Oh and fosters always get first choice of adoption..... :D

Here are some pictures. First are the husky mix babies. They are here now with me..

Is there a time frame on the fostering? When are they eligible for adoption since that would be the minimum time I am guessing for fostering? I am asking all my friends! They are so cute!

Have you gotten any foster homes for them yet? I can at least commit to fostering until you get a foster home if that helps save any of them! Did the other puppies find homes already I hope!

I am hoping to only need short term fosters. The first set of puppies, the dumpster pups, will be going home shortly. (at least the girl is going home this weekend...yay) They are getting spay/neutered this week. (the vet pushed their surgery back 2 weeks so they are still here) I am also taking in the husky mix pups this week to get spay/neutered. The hound pups next week.

I am having a huge adoption event on February 12th and want to bring up as many pups as I can. The reason I am asking for foster homes is because at this point I have 16 dogs here (without the hound pups). I am slowly going to lose my mind...LOL.

Once I clear out some pups, and make some room, I can always bring the pups back in. I just need to clear out a few. LOL. (or adopt out a few too...)

What are the Feb. event details? Do you have an article or anything to run in the LO on the 8th?

Let me know if you need help!

I don't have an article. I am so bad at coming up with things to write. LOL. I am just holding a small adoption event at The Furry Nation from 12-4 and bringing up the puppies in hopes of finding new homes. Plus to talk about what we do.
