Interesting Photo?

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

While it is grainy, and bad, had the opportunity to take a picture of some of my favorite
Lakewoodites, attending the opening of Vision 21.

Image
Lakewood's Mayor Mike Summers, School Board member and soon to be retiring
Sgt. Ed Favre, and myself having a fun loving debate in a side room.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, really?

peace

Nice picture - probably would have been better if Jim was the one in the background facing the wall.

Hi Corey,

I disagree. I think the comparison between these three faces is fascinating. What sort of fun-loving debate are they having in this side room?

Perhaps they are comparing notes on who has the best vision to run Lakewood in 2012--you know, the Apocalypse?

Betsy,

I thought the Apocalypse already happened?

Ivor,

Did I miss the Apocalypse? I thought it was supposed to be in 2012? Or did that get readjusted with this new astrological calendar? What happened? How could you tell? Did you get pictures?

Scott,

I'm feeling a lot better now, though I not sure that I'm supposed to...
Thanks.

Betsy - It looks to me like the woman in the background is texting the Smithsonian to see who defrosted the Wooly Mammoth and sent it to Lakewood to run the Observer.

I don't know, Corey, maybe being a little shaggy will make for being a better leader during the Apocalpyse. Do you think we'll still have barber shops?

Betsy

We have spoken about this Apocalypse notion. There is a flaw in this Mayan Calendar thing. It actually reads
when translated correctly. "Calendar Over" Which mean turn over for the next 6,000 year calendar" At which
point they will need to turn it over again.

As we are in a Frank Sinatra mood, I bring back a favorite.

Is this the preview of the first debate? If so, when is it?

Upon further observation - just how long is Jim's arm? I remember taking photos like this in high school but never could I cover so much ground (we always looked cramped in the photo frame).

Ivor, could you explain the proper way to take a group photo with the "outstretched arm approach" - how does he know the lighting is right, or even that everyone is in the frame? If Ken were around, could he direct me to the book on the technique?

Jim, your photo prowless never seems to stop amazing me.

Hey Corey,

I didn't realize Jim was taking this picture himself. Is that what you're saying?

That he has a really long arm? Or maybe he put the camera on a table or something, but how could he see the picture that he was composing? If this is true, this picture proves, once again, that Jim O'Bryan may have the special skills necessary for leading Lakewood through the Apocalypse. Or during the turning of the pages of a Lakewood calendar, whichever comes first.

If a requirement for good leadership is transparency, what could be more transparent than having the ability to take a picture of yourself, and the other members of the meeting you're having, in real time? And then having the courage (and the technical expertise) to post it? (Maybe live streaming video.)

Hey Ivor,

I think the debate is happening right now. It might require another Youtube song at this point, got any ideas?
