If Unemployment Benefit Extension Expires

Post by sharon kinsella »

There will be more hungry children and more families in the cold. Very sad.

Please remember the Christian Center Foodbank when you make out your grocery list. There are too many needy families, disabled and elderly in our town who need help.

While we go on about foolishness, children suffer.

Sharon, I find myself almost speechless, in a good way. You sound very much like Glenn Beck, promoting personal charity like that. Thank you.

Glenn Beck, July 23, 2010 wrote:I think that big government is slavery. I think it destroys. Show me where big government has ever worked. Show it to me, Harry. Show it to me in Detroit. How about Philadelphia, how about Washington D.C., how about California. Show me where big government sets people free. I can't find it. Make no mistake, this argument is never about anything other than big government, small government, and freedom. It doesn't make sense to me that big government could set people free. It never has. Never. It is about small government and individual responsibility. We don't need more government. We need more charity. And charity never comes from government. Charity comes from individuals. Period. And too many people of faith, my faith included, understand charity as something the government does.

Glenn Beck, February 8, 2010 wrote:Right now everybody's talking about charity, we've got to get more charity, we've got to get more charity, Obama's, you know, trying to teach us how to be charitable. You know how we are charitable? We're the most charitable people on the planet. Do you know why? Because we're the richest people on the planet and we have personal responsibility. Because of the Constitution we can go and we can live our dreams, we can create. We can be a slug or we can be Bill Gates. If it wasn't for the Constitution, how many vaccines wouldn't be funded today because of Bill Gates? If it wasn't for the Constitution, could he have done what he did any place else?

Roy

Sorry, quoting Glen Beck is akin to quoting Imus. Good showman with zero facts.

Do not tell me about being an American, or fighting for this country, if you are willing
to hurt and ruin the lives of Americans. The current healthcare system, fortified by
many giving in to lobbying dollars instead of what their constituents need, have killed
as many Americans x 100 than Bin Ladin did.

The move to fortify a very small handful of millionaires and billionaires instead of helping
Americans make ends meet in a business environment that has been gutted and destroyed
by Washington over the past 20 years instead of putting the money into the best stimulus
program ever devised by Washington - Unemployment is plainly ignorant, and I feel yet
another attack on America from within.

100% of every dollar put into unemployment payments goes into the economy. Less than
1% of the Bush Tax cuts will find their way into the American economy.

Roy, I love your enthusiasm, but at some point you are going to have to understand that
Rush and Beck, are shills nothing more, and they have zero credibility in economics,
politics, religion, or anything within American life. While I defend their right to say what
they say. It is ignorant to believe what has been proven to be nothing more than
hyperbole and outright miss-truths again and again.

This country desperately needs a credible news source, so that the talking heads and
flapping jaws at FOX and MSNBC and others go back to being entertainment on a
slightly lower level than Comedy Central.

FWIW

Roy, you never have to worry about where your kids are getting their next meal.

I suggest you move out of your parents house, do not ever accept any help from them (like people who have no extended family or poor extended family). Make it on your own the rest of your life.

You have backup, turn off the radio and go out and talk to people in different circumstances than your peers. Get to know the way things really are.

The pink bubble you seem to see things through needs to bust.
