The Cleveland area was featured in USA Today's Real Estate column today and at the end of the column there was a nice writeup on Lakewood:

"Hot 'hoods: Lakewood is an inner-ring suburb of Cleveland located along the cliffs of Lake Erie. It was founded in 1889 and remains desirable.

"It has strong activity and beautiful old neighborhoods," Woodard says. This year Lakewood was named one of the top 10 coolest suburbs worth a visit by Travel & Leisure Magazine.

The city has many art galleries and restaurants. Homes are affordable. One updated, three-bedroom Colonial built in 1920 is listed for $137,328."
