So...my son loves trains...where to go?
My son and I are looking for a good place to go "train spotting" or better yet, up close and personal. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Corey

If you want an idea for a weekend trip, check out the train museum in Strasburg PA.

They also have a miniature or toy train museum there, as well.

If you really want to get immersed in trains, stay nearby at the Red Caboose Inn.

We stayed there many years ago when my son was "into' trains. They have old cabooses that they turned into sleeping units. It was very fun, as long as you do nott expect luxury accommodations in a caboose!

If you have yet to do so, you can put him on a train for a nice ride via the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.

The best place to watch trains in northern Ohio is Berea, on Depot Street, right off the new overpass on Front Street, near the old station. The CSX and NS main lines between Chicago to the northeast are next to each other. Over 100 trains a day. I'll probalby be there with my grandson Thursday.

Thank you everyone for your responses. In the short-term you will find us Monday in Berea with plans to travel and explore when the weather breaks again.
Thanks again,
Corey

My son and I went to the area mentioned in Berea and had a great time (we even ventured into he historical museum? that is being renovated there, sorry construction workers). The planes overhead and trucks passing by were and added bonus. Thanks again for the suggestion.
