Heard a rumor that Mike Summers, Ward 3 councilman, has put his hat in the ring. Anyone know if that's true?

I have not heard anything which might clarify this idea. However, Mike Summers has demonstrated considerable skill as Finance Committee chair of Council and brings executive and administrative experience from the private sector.
It would be hoped that this is the caliber of applicants for the Mayor's position.

Would Ken Lanci be willing to do the job if we offer him $1 per year?

That is true. But as Stan points out Mike is doing fantastic work on city council and could
we really afford to lose that aspect, and need to appoint at least two if not more council
people for the next none months? Where is the city could find someone that would be
willing to hold fort, work on what can be done with ZERO finances, until a proper election
can be had in November.

This will get very complicated, as just last week our State Senator was wondering out loud
if Ed would take 3 or more council people with him to the county, not to mention
possible department heads.

I like Mike, I grew up with Mike, he has been a good council person.

Well...not exactly  Lots of work here to do. But it's good to know that our beloved Lakewood may be in good hands!
