So Much For Being The Most Walkable City

Post by sharon kinsella »

According to the Huffington Post -

"Its most walkable neighborhoods are Downtown, Ohio-West Side, and Detroit Shoreway." It says of Cleveland.

Don't get me wrong I am still a flaming liberal. But the huffpo is doing nothing to help the cause. There are just the left extension of glen beck. I doubt anyone from the huffpo has ever been to Lakewood. Perhaps they read a Newsweek article once... ;-)

Ugh.

Or maybe they're just talking neighborhoods of Cleveland, not nearby cities like Lakewood.

Mike

No matter, this is a beaten dead horse. About a year ago Steve Davis and I spent the
evening searching "hot terms" for results on the net. "Walkable" get you about 5 million
returns, the only thing worse for searches is "Art District." This should be seen as a sign
that this train left the station decades ago.

However is we use a term Mel Page dropped on us over a year ago "Livable" we get a much
broader definition, but a much smaller return on hits. This is good. When you throw in
things like "Sustainable Arts" you really start to carve out a unique brand.

FWIW
