What Happens When....
What happens when....you bring a few Albanians together with a Greek with a Serbian with a Nigerian with a community of young people from vastly different backgrounds and in your high school years you eke out a 2-1 victory over your crosstown rival Lakewood St. Edward soccer team? Tonight that happened at Lakewood Stadium. Take a look.
Here just following a gritty 2-1 win over a highly-skilled Lakewood St. Edward team, Lakewood High School players hoist the Lakewood Community Soccer Trophy and display their J0Y! Congratulations Lakewood Rangers Soccer Team and to Coach Andrew Toth and his staff!
I saw Ivor snapping photos from the sideline. Perhaps he will have action shots to add.

Great example of Lakewood "cool".

Nothin' shakin' on Shakedown Street.
Used to be the heart of town.
Don't tell me this town ain't got no heart.
You just gotta poke around.

Re: What Happens When....
NICE!
And, having attended St. Edward's other rival, and considering that my lovely wife teaches the Americans who are still working on their English, I take special joy in the occasion.
"Still working on their English." . . . . I'd have to say that applies to me, too.

Thanks for the photo. Congratulations Lakewood Soccer! This is a huge victory. By the way we need more soccer fields in Lakewood. Any suggestions or plans that I do not know about from my fellow observers? I coach youth soccer here in Lakewood and this has been a problem for years. Madison is better than it used to be but we need more. Thanks.

Thanks!
I'd love to post sports photos more often, but I don't.

Jay
Thanks for sharing that image last night.
Is a really good story and image.
Ivor
Your talent is sick!
As always thank you.
For those that do not know. Ivor was just selected as one of the rare sideline photographers at
Ohio State games at home in the Horseshoe!
You always make me proud.
If you were the only thing to come out of this project it would have all been worthwhile.

Re: What Happens When....
Ivor, Jay...
Thank you.
Wow!
Anyone who questions the value of our public schools need only to look at this thread.
Lakewood, you ARE the American Dream.
(Of course, we are also VERY fortunate to have St. Ed's here too!)
What a town!!!
What a town!!!
And, at the risk of thread drift here...
I'm going back, not to the banjo right now...
but to the RANGER DRUMLINE!
You SAY that you don't play the drums?
We don't care, that's cool!
We just want you all to know,
That RANGER DRUMMERS RULE!
Thank you.
