Good Neighbors Light The Night!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Hey fellow Lakewoodites, especially those in the Scenic Park District, Clifton Park, North of the WSL, on both sides of Lakewood Park and my neighbors in the Emerald Park Historic District.

Let's light the night by leaving porch lights and back patio lights on. Maybe even a inside
light or two.

In a show of contentment, cool, good neighborly fun, and SECURITY!

Right now dogs would help make good neighbors too!

I will leave it at that for now.

Party on.

Maybe sit on your porches too into the early morning or early before dawn.

Maybe have a cell phone handy.

Just saying.

I don't understand vague and cryptic messages like this. If there is something to be warned about, wouldn't it be better just to be specific about what it is? Messages like these only make me paranoid and uneasy.

Amy

A couple friends mentioned their homes were broken into. No description, no car, nothing
but homes broken into at night and during the day. No idea if it was random, a team
a freak occurrence.

So, the only message I can see of value is, spend time on the porch and in the neighborhood.
If you are having an ice tea or cocktail, or coffee whatever. Enjoy it on the porch, and if you
see something suspicious make a call.

Not sure that makes anyone feel any better or less paranoid.

While we are on the subject. This will not be getting better here, out west out east, etc.
It is tough out there. Desperate people do desperate things. No matter what people tell
you about Medical Mart, flowers, or cool. The region and the country is in for a rough ride.
I have no idea why they report on the news that "it looks like we are over..." No industrial
base, no ladder to climb out of this hole.

It pays to be safe, everyday.

Seconded. I barely check in here anymore because it seems like every thread is all cloak and dagger/ wink wink nod nod inside jokes or private conversations. And usually when you ask for some clarification or explanation, it's met with silence.

Valerie

How shocking that you find something I do wrong.

So I have two police that refuse to go on the record for fear of losing their jobs. I have a
couple reports by people that have ZERO knowledge of anything but their house or their
neighbor's house were broken into.

What do I report or say that would have made you happy?

Give me a hint?

How about SECURITY watch the neighborhood, turn your lights on and report suspicious
behavior. No wink, wink, no nod.

Now maybe you should direct your beliefs to the people that are running your city in
backroom deals, with absolute silence towards you and every other tax payer. The ones
changing your city with your money to be a new mall, county prison etc.? Or am I the only
one to get the lecture? Why not call the police chief and ask where is the official warning?
