The 400,000 Will Seek Their Revenge

The Plain Dealer and other newspapers are engaged in a futile effort to find out how much taxpayers spend on public employee pensions. Some of those employees have vowed revenge:

Why is this important to Lakewood? Because about 10% of current spending is spent on contributions to employee pensions. Even with the proposed 25% increase in employer contributions those plans will still be underfunded.

What affect will the proposed increases have on City and school budgets?

How can cities afford other services if almost half of their discredtionary spending is spent on pensions?

Why should taxpayers work until they are 75 to pay public employees to retire at 55?

Who are the Lakewood employees who are receiving ther pensions and $600,000 in lump sum payments under the DROP program? Why is that information secret?

All the efforts of even the best mayor and best council will be for nothing unless they can put a halt to these ruinous programs.

The most effective course of action is for cities to form their own political action commitee. The committee can raise money to pay the bribes to get the necessary changes in State law.

The real division in this country is not between white and black and rich and poor. The real division is between the new ruling class and the rest of us.
