Sad that any Republican could beat Obama in 2012... The Titanic is now backing up from the iceberg... We need to elect a qualified candidate in 2012.. Some one who understands how the US economy works... and does not... C'mon Hillary!!!!!

Jim,

I must have missed the part where it shows what the average tea party members score. All I know is I agree with a lot of what the tea party stands for and I got 9 correct.

11 out of 11.

Yeah, those tea party idiots want the gov't to live within its means. Being fiscally responsible is so stupid. :)

Surprisingly enough I to scored perfect. I think that puts us in the top 5 percent. Anyway I would not have a problem with the tea party folk if I thought they were doing anything more than making glen beck and sara palin rich. Problem is that every tea person I see seems to have no clue why they are in the "movement" (present company excluded, there the top 5 percent thing again ;-) They all just spout off vague references to obama trashing our rights, the constitution, and generaly trying to kill us all while destroying the super cool america of.... well.... everything before the tea party. I am all about be smart with our money. But to me the tea party just seems to say "lets say no to every piece of social spending ever. Then write blank checks for two crazy wars that cost crazy amounts of money. Then we can be all about 60 cents of every dollar going to the department of defense. Oh and lets save money and get the government out of our lives by getting rid of the department of education, fda, faa, whatever." I just don't buy it.

And I am just bitter that you guys hijacked a totally righteous flag ;-)

From my perspective, I believe the tea party is a deeply rooted reaction to business as usual attitude in Washington. By that I mean people are very upset that Republicans strayed from their usual thrifty nature and expanded govt by leaps and bounds during Bush (not to mention funding wars). And the out of control spending continued after the Dems took back the house in 2006. With TARP under Bush and stimulus, health care and potentially Cap and Trade under Obama, people have had it up to their eyeballs with business as usual in Washington. Combine that with a skyrocketing national debt and it's a formula for revolt. Somewhere I read that about 40 cents of each dollar in this years fed budget is borrowed. Isn't that insane?

Flashback to Nov 2006 - quote from Nancy Pelosi
"The American people voted to restore integrity and honesty in Washington, D.C., and the Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history," Pelosi said.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 00473.html

Most honest, most open and most ethical? What a crock of BS. People are fed up with business as usual and doing something about it.

Republicans blew their reputation as fiscally conservative during the Bush years. The Democrats reputation has always been tax and spend. Up until now Republicans and Democrats have basically alternated control. Voters would be upset with Dems and vote in Republicans and vice versa. Now voters are upset with both parties which is where the tea party comes in.

Just my two cents....FWIW.

right wing jesus?

Charlie, Interesting point with where the tea party "comes is". What is the end goal of the tea party? Seems that business as usual in Washington is not going anywhere. Obama is case in point, you can talk a big game but once you get there it all goes out the window. Almost to that point... I can across this the other day...

I have not had a second to watch it yet but the preview seems cool. If anyone wants to see it but has trouble with the download let me know. I will be happy to figure out some way of getting it to you.

Huh?
1. I've never heard of Glen Beck...now Glenn Beck, that's different.

2. Are you implying that Jesus would have been left-wing?

No Roy, There is both a left and right wing jesus depending on who you are talking to.

Anyway, What are your thought on my thought about it all being for not. Like I said obama talked a big game but when he got there it all fell apart. I can only assume that he quickly figured out that this country is run by corporations and not the people.

So how are you tea party folks going to "bring real change"?

P.S. we all need to hook up again for beer/soda. And this time you need to come Roy.... ;-) oh and Gary, he's a blast.

Eh, I don't think he'd be either, since both sides can complete idiots at times. ;)

You would have to find out what Roy's family thinks about it!
