Nine Police Cars Rush to Harlon Avenue

Post by Natalie Schrimpf »

Does anyone know what happened on Harlon Ave. (off of Nicholson) tonight around 8PM? Nine police cars rushed to the street, sirens and all and pulled up in front of a house. One witness said she saw them arrest a male.

I've never seen so many police cars rush to a scene. I was just wondering what might have warranted so many officers to the scene so quickly.

I have no idea what happened but I have seen such a shocking response before. A few months back something happened a few houses down from us, I'm pretty certain it was a domestic situation and 8 cars came racing down our street. I was shocked by the response but it also made me feel pretty safe knowing every situation is responded to quickly.

I'm a fairly regular listener to the scanner. I recall an incident on Harlon a few months back that required a significant response because the individual was known to have guns and had a history of being unstable.
I think the proper response, which the Lakewood Police follow, is to respond with a very visible and significant force so as to convince an individual who has a track record of being a potentially lethal threat to back down.
