Anyone else had a visit by these guys? I've had 2 different sales people in the last few days, both pushing their security product pretty hard.
They had what seem to be a lakewood permit, but the company has tons of complaints online. Didn't want to take no for an answer.
They may be legit, but sure don't act like it.

Re: Platinum Protection door-to-door salespeople
Just two days ago I was visited by them. Shady door to door people are common place in my area (belle south of madison). One guy really wanted me to give him a copy of my gas bill. Why would I do that? I told him to leave and an hour later he was standing across the street while his buddy came and rang my door bell. He told me he did not know that I had already been visited. I got mad and pointed out his friend across the street who was acting like he did not see me. At least the mormans don't come back when I tell them to leave.
Jarrell, to your point. After I told the GE guy to leave he did show me his permit to be here. Looked Legit. I wonder if they have to pay for that?

I went out and purchased a "No Soliciting" sign for my front door and thankfully no one knocks anymore. YAY!!! Before I got the sign, I just opened the door for the salesperson to be greeted by 300 pounds of barking dogs. They walked away quickly. LOL.

They want your gas bill so they can get your account number and switch you to their service even if you don't agree. Don't fall for it. If it seems too good to be true, it usually is.
Maybe the City can add a page to their website that lists every company and employee who has a door to door sales permit along with the permits expiration date. A picture of every person holding a permit would also be nice.
