We did not need obama to do that. We already have the nationa pizza database. Where do you think all thoes junk mailers, irs agents, collections compaines, etc get your name and address. Pizza Hut sells it to them. Priviacy was dead long before health oboma. Hell it has already been proven that AT$T was piping your voice and data traffic wholesale to the NSA!!

I really think the IRS has better places to get our addresses from Jim.

You're right! They do! Privacy is dead!

If oboma is going to sneek into your house and steal you guns while he is replacing your bible with the koran he is not going to look up you census answers to see what time you leave for work. It is far eaiser to check you facebook status ;-)

As for what happens next... We wait for the country to fall apart!! ;-)

If he's not going to look at my answers, I suppose its alright that I only answered 3 of the questions.

I always find it comical when right-wing nuts say things like "our privacy is gone!" and the Democrats want "big government", when they passed a bill which allows the government to read emails, wiretap phones and access records whenever they feel like it. I never knew being "patriotic" meant allowing the government to listen in on my conversations with my girlfriend.

When people in this country starve, freeze and get deathly ill because they have no food, shelter, electricity, or medical help, they are expected to stay quiet because it's the way things work.. but as soon as Republicans don't have the power of the majority vote, bricks and bullets fly through office windows and white powder gets sent out like campaign literature. Somehow a normal bill-to-law process in the House and Senate, which followed all the rules and regulations of the US Constitution is deemed unconstitutional, while denying a child or adult the right to see a doctor is perfectly fair. You cannot have life, liberty or pursue any happiness without having good health.. and if, God forbid, you were born with a condition or had a child that has some kind of complication, you shouldn't have to give your family's liberty or right to pursue your happiness away to insurance companies, hospital bills and constant policy changes.

I get the whole idea of capitalism, but a human's life shouldn't have a price tag on it. Essentially, you a putting a price tag on a life- because if you want that life to be a healthy life, or if you want a life to be saved, it will cost you money- so much money that you'll give your right to pursue happiness away because you will be obligated to pay insurance companies for the rest of your life, instead of putting your child through college, buying a car, or a house, etc.

When I hear ignorant comments like that I begin to understand how Obama got elected.

Capitalism and American Democracy has created the wealthiest most innovative economy in the world. Part of that creation is the BEST medical system in the world. President Obama has embarked on a economic path that deliberately sets out to destroy both and you cheer him on.

If you ever get a job or start a company you may some day get glimmer of understanding on what it takes to make a great country. Hint: It's not dependence on government.

I'm not optimistic. People adapt easily to slavery.

Ivor spoke the truth Bill.

Look at our death rates for delivery and labor. Infant mortality.

Those are two I know make us look bad, I'm sure there's more. We are deluded if we think we are the best. Every country does.

Don't you know that the Europeans and Canadians laugh at us? Read something outside your comfort zone, check the media in other countries, talk to the people. You'll be surprised.

the BEST medical system in the world? I almost fell out of my chair.

Bill, as you know, I'm self-employed. And I also got a bit of understanding on what makes a great country a long time ago. As you know, I didn't learn how the world works through US History 1 and 2, I saw it with my own eyes.

Have you been watching the news? Hearing the rhetoric of the right? You mention slavery- When civil rights marches were going on, people who were unhappy with being suppressed by their government got sprayed with a fire hose and attacked by dogs and clubs. Now, the unhappy are chucking bricks and shooting through windows and sending envelopes filled with white powder to officials, and that's not even mentioning what they are SAYING. What is done about it? A slap no the wrist, a reminder that "well, there are better ways to channel your anger."

Damn Bill, it really must be hard adapting to "slavery" when you've got a great view of the lake. I feel so bad for you. It must be hard living in your blocked off reality.

Stephen,

I knew you'd resort to your normal tactics.

Fear leads to the dark side? Thanks for proving this tea party movement and the republicans wrong.

To suggest that life, liberty or even happiness is somehow dependent on such an ambiguous term as "good health" is a dangerous precident to set.

are the rights of all to be suspended until the health of all are secured? Because if your health is dependent on limiting anothers' "persuit of happiness" then where do you draw the line?

My misgivings about this whole issue stem from the question: Is this a moral responsibility to help or a legal obligation to provide?

I was not aware that there was a major epidemic of US Citizens starving or freezing to death . I make frequent trips to the down town Cleveland area with "relief bags" for the homeless. I have yet to see anyone near death.

You do know that the Democrats in Congress just pushed through an unamended extension of the USA Patriot Act? I did not complain.. just sayin..
