Lakewood's choice of wings isn't the best. My favorite wings in Lakewood are from Geppettos.

Where would it be located?

Isn't Valley View as close or closer? Either way, I picture QSLs in huge parking lots of huge drawing centers, not across from the LPL...

I am excited for this. Who knows, maybe ADH will do a Bike Night benefit there. (check out Rescue Ink on animal planet...they are the best)

I go to the QSL in Valley View. (I also go the Champps there too...)

However though I do want to know why is this city trying to become very commercial? I thought Lakewood was known for the mom/pop shops and the uniqueness of it. It seems that "some people" *giggles* want us to become a mini-Avon. Why?

Missy

I make the trip to both QSL about 6 times each summer. Great destination in one of the
cars. Here is a shot of the one in Avon on Sunday in the "muscle car power" section.

Bike night at QSL, would be great 2,000+ bikers every tuesday! Sweet. Spilling over
to the bars up and down Detroit Ave.

The reason is, the driving force in this town only understands development and regionalism.
If all you have you know how to use is a hammer, every screw looks like a nail.
Actually, everything begins to look like a nail.

Are you serious? I'm sure there are quite a few families within earshot of Drug Mart plaza that would not appreciate a bike night in their backyards not to mention the library patrons across the street.

This chain seems better suited to locations off freeways exits ... and even in those locations I recall lots of complaints about noise.

I think they will need to take one for the team on this. Imagine the $$$$$ 2,000+ bikers every Tuesday
in the summer and hot rods on Sunday. Spilling out to the rest of the bars in the neighborhoods.
We are talking real $$$$$$ here. I am sure the average biker can drink about $30 before getting
feisty and belligerent! That is a potential of almost $60,000 a week more than now.

I realize that Mickey at Around the Corner was doing some low key car and bike things, and he
has good wings, but, damn. QSL bike night! races!, Straight pipes! Engines! Damn this is cool.

Really? I used to live in that area and expected a bit more noise in exchange for the convenience to shopping and the library but events like you are describing don't seem in line with the family friendly walkable community you are always talking about.

And I still hope you are joking.

Now you must be joking, right?

I can not think of anything worse than 2,000+ bikers drinking $30 worth of beer, spilling out to the rest of the bars on Detroit.

The decibel levels of straight pipes, and 2000+ Harley's on a Tuesday night; yep LPL patrons and those living within earshot will be thinking Damn, this is noisy.

Cafe56 is much better than QSL anyway :D

As a collector of cars and motorcycles and a complete car freak. I can personally see the need for
a place that serves burgers and wings in Lakewood. It is a massive hole that can now be filled. Afer
all it is not like we are bringing another clothing store to DowntowN Lakewood where we already
have a massive glut of clothing store.

However Kate's raises an interesting point, about the Library.

Perhaps we could steer them to Sloan Ave. and that plaza. That way we could hear those beautiful
pipes and engine sounds reverberating on Sloane. Or where the Cliffs was supposed to be.
Imagine the sound of those engines on the Sloane Subway, coming up from Lake/Clifton!

Richard

They all do not ride Harley's just the ones going through midlife crisis and love to fix things on
the side of the road. I see many BSAs, Triumphs, Moto Guzzis, etc. 800cc Guzzi at full song!

Straight pipes saves lives.

I'm still waiting for slot car racing to return to Lakewood.

Still have a couple of those down in the basement somewhere.

Can't bear to throw them out.

Ah, the fun of having a 12 volt car motor, with it's little armature rewound to 3 volts.

Gee, wouldn't that save energy? (Wink, wink)

And...feeling the peeling-out potential of those 2 inch silicone 'sliks" on the track....

Ah, to be young again...

No noise either, except our screams.

Back to the banjo....

Now you REALLY must be joking. I think all the places noted on this thread as alternative wing options, with the exception of Geppettos, serve both Burgers and Wings. Add at least The Rush Inn to that list and I'm guessing the burger and wing niche is pretty much covered in Lakewood.

I would guess Lakewood is home to a greater percentage of vegetarians than most communities and there are very few vegetarian options now. How about getting Chrissie Hynde to open a restaurant, with a giant parking lot for people powered bikes?

That said my comment regarding noise was more about the quality of life for the people who live in the surrounding areas than my concern for the library patrons. I recall the westend is also home to many people who might be unwilling to take one for the team.

The only location in Lakewood that might be suitable for this would be over on Berea Road. This is a community of homes, not parking lots full of cars and motorcycles.

Maybe we could encourage a Lakewood QSL to think outside of the box for this location and host bike nights for those of us who prefer the human powered bikes. We've seen the kind of turn-out we can get for the Walk n Roll style events. A tricked out Colnago or a vintage Schwinn that would be cool. And family friendly too. Heck we all need to eat and drink.

That is not what they are all about. Might be a good idea to start a place like that, but
QS&L is allabout raw power.

or from Valley View!

A sight to behold EVERY Wednesday night all spring, summer and fall. Cars on the weekend!

And certainly one of the top 10 burgers and top 5 wings in town!

I love it when a good plan comes together. Should add to the program of teaching our
kids to cross Detroit. Teaching them how to drink and drive responsibly!

I checked....and it's not April 1st.

And... I believe it's parents who should teach their kids "how to drink and drive", not QSL Bike Night  Or..... perhaps it should be added to the curriculem of Safety Town
