Light Up Lakewood

I didn't see any postings about this and I know there has been some contention regarding LakewoodAlive events. But I have to say once again this event was amazing. I had a great time walking around visiting shops and listening to all the various groups perform. A lot of people put in time and effort to make Lakewood shine and I for one thank them. We really did have a good night, it was fun to stop and chat with friends and such. The kids from all over the city that sang and played music showed how talented the youth of Lakewood are. So my thanks goes out for putting together an event that lets us enjoy the holiday spirit with friends and family is this amazing city. Thanks for putting smiles on so many faces.

Logistics and sound at the Masonic went well. The crowd inside was great, shoulder to shoulder, standing room only. I heard the Horace Mann and Lincoln choirs, and kudos to both directors not just for cat herding but getting solid sound out of 4th and 5th graders.

Lisa was able to stay longer than me, and heard/saw a bunch of other groups, including Beck Center, tappers and hip hoppers from Sillouhette, etc. I understand the Library was packed.

Businesses--Cory, and anyone else reading--how'd it go for you?

It seemed to me a larger crowd than previous years.

As always, it's a great event for us. It pairs well with all of the out-of-towners we bring in with our wine tasting event we have that night. It is also great to see the city streets packed with people, especially seeing all the kids who are building up their memories of Lakewood and the holiday season.

I heard that the overall crowd may have been lower (then again, I'm trapped behind the glass for the evening), but our turnout was great.
