In 2008 The George Washington University Homeland Security Institute (HSPI) initiated a transition task force to help craft homeland security policies during Obama’s transition period. In May of 2009 HSPI finished its report titled, “Thinking Anew-Security Priorities for the Next Administration.” One of the members of this Obama transition project was none other than the Muslim murderer Nidal Hassan.
Nidal is listed in Appendix C, Page 29 of the HSPI report as having served as a “Task Force Event Participant,” in his position with the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine. (download .pdf of report) We should caution, though, that Hasan did not work for Obama. But he was a part of the University’s efforts to advise Obama.
The HSPI fashions itself a “think and do tank” and claims its mission as that of building “bridges between theory and practice to advance homeland security through an interdisciplinary approach.” I wonder if one of those bridges leads to “understanding” the mindset of terrorists like Hasan, a participant in George Washington University’s “think and do” mission?

You really need to double-check your sources before you go around the internet reposting them.

Wrong! So thoroughly, thoroughly wrong!
That GWU document no more “advised” the Obama transition as did the flurry of think-tank documents and advisory strategies put out by endless interest groups. It had, and therefore Hasan had, absolutely no connection to the Obama administration. Here, for instance, is a story I wrote in November about one such strategy “advisory” paper prepared by the civil liberties community for the Obama transition about counterterrorism strategies. Really, this is as stupid as saying that a guy who writes a letter to The New York Times “advised” editor Bill Keller.
[...]
Hasan attended a meeting of a private organization that gave the transition some unsolicited advice. To a group of conspiracy theorists, this is the “connection.” How long before Fox News picks up the story?

The WND article (that is quoted by the Washington Independent) :
Canada Free Press article that I posted:
.NEW YORK – Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the alleged shooter in yesterday's massacre at Fort Hood, played a homeland security advisory role in President Barack Obama's transition into the White House, according to a key university policy institute document

It is obvious that the Washington Idependent has an ax to grind with Jerome by calling the WND a "Birther Site"You really need to double-check your sources before you go around the internet reposting them.

Re: Major Hasan Assisted Obama’s Transition Team With University
So, Stephen, what exactly is your point in posting this? Do you suspect that Hasan, as an attendee at some University policy-wonkfest, had some actual input and feedback into the Obama transition team, or not? If so, what in the final report do you think a) Hasan contributed and b) the Obama team actually looked and and/or implemented as a result of the suggestion?
The headline you chose for the topic suggests you think he did have some direct input. The reality of the situation is that he didn't. He was one of around 200 audience members (not even a panelist) at an event that was not commissioned by the actual Obama transition team. There was no 'advisory' capacity beyond a report that may or may not have been read by anyone in the Administration.
There are much more interesting angles to follow in this story, such as the report that he attended the same mosque, at the same time, as the 9/11 hijackers.
Spencer Ackerman may be a liberal, but he's a realist and a damn sight more informed and informative on foreign policy issues than many right-wing pundits I read. You'd do well to add him to your reading list.

Again, I have to ask. Did you read the article that I posted? Did you notice the title of the article as given by Warner Huston? Mass Murdering Muslim Major Worked to Assist Obama’s Transition Team With University Project. Would that title fit on the subject line? Also, I found the term Murdering Muslim offensive. The headline you chose for the topic suggests you think he did have some direct input.

I did read it, and find the implication in that headline incorrect. He did not actually assist the transition team. To suggest otherwise is yellow journalism. Your editing of the headline makes it even more misleading.
There are times when your shtick is amusing and diverting and other times when it's simply tiresome. This is an example of the latter. Make a point or don't waste our time.
