My ears are still ringing from last night's show, but I'm thankful for this opportunity to shoot one of the biggest rock/metal bands in the world. Before we moved to America, the only thing I knew about this place was Metallica, McDonalds and NYC. I saw them live for the first time in 2004, which was a great experience, but this is a full circle moment.
Never in my life would I have guessed that we'd be living in America, and I'd be taking photos, of all subjects....Metallica.
First and as always, I have to compliment you on those great pictures, and yes, this is still America; a place where dreams can still come true if one is determined to work hard and pursue them.
You are a shining example of dreams coming true in this country. You have covered the political, musical, and news events of our times, without even having to travel more than a few miles from your adopted home, right here in the Cleveland area.
That too, is the magic of the Cleveland paradigm. This place is indeed the center of change for the 21st century.
You may leave this place one day, for what you might perceive to be better opportunities, and you may be right...
But you will NEVER forget what you accomplished right here...The world indeed, came to you!
And we will never forget you either.
Oh yes, dl is quite right, by the way. You need ear protection if you are going to cover these types of events. Trust me as one who has endured more ear operations than you need to know about...ears are precious.
That's probably why I like the nice soft banjo better these days than those big amps and electric guitars. (well, at least SOME of the time, anyway- smile)
I never leave for a concert with at least three pairs of ear plugs in my pockets. The ringing came from sitting in the stands and watching the rest of the show without earplugs in.
