The new "barker" is here....

Post by Missy Limkemann »

And let me just say....OMG what abuse this poor thing took before coming here. I am going to post some pictures....I will explain each one...Mind you he is 3 years old and only 34 pounds. He should be around 50ish pounds (and that is on the thin side for a boxer at 50 pounds).

And this is how skinny he is (ignore the dust bunny in the upper corner, Lucy my lab is shedding and she was sitting there today and that is what comes off her when she gets up...UGH!!!)

Colleen,

From what Missy told me this afternoon, the damage is all from burns from sitting in his own waste as he was confined to a cage.

I saw Bob in person at the Hot Dog Social at Furry Nation today. He is so skinny. You can see every single bone in his little tiny body. He is so tiny, save for his full grown boxer face. It is seriously so tragic. He was the sweetest thing too, and seemed so calm as well.

He was so good yesterday. I was so impressed with him. He came home and pretty much slept the rest of the night away. He is just so good.
The burns are from lying in his own waste. Urine is very acidic so it is almost like acid burn on his feet and chest. I cry just looking at him. I cry thinking of what he went thru to get to this point. He goes back to the vet tomorrow morning for another check up, and then we start on the feet. I am seriously thinking of changing the rescue's name to All Special Needs or All Skin Issues Rescue. AUGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you again everyone. I like that I can share this with you guys and you really don't think I am too crazy. (ok, I hope you don't think I have lost all my marbles, I checked there are still a couple rolling around up there)

You need to talk about it hun. It sits on your soul everytime you look at him.

I'm not looking at this thread again. I dreamt about him and it will make me sick and I can't afford that.

Just know that I'm here and going to do what little I can for you and your animals. Your children must be angels with these animals. Best thing for both.
