Warning! Cult After Our Children's Minds With Schools Help!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

It came to my attention last night, that there is a new all encompassing nearly religious
cult that is after our children's minds and souls, and through them will try to convert
parents to take them to this new sanctified experience. Beware!

I know how many parents were upset with Telletubbies for subliminally preaching
gay lifestyle to kids. Of course that was not forced on them, and parents could say
no! Recently we have seen parents become more and more concerned about what
is being forced fed to their children. Especially the very young and most impressionable.
Which is completely understandable, as with these young minds it is a time for parents
to mold their minds, not some cult.

What has been most troubling over the phone calls coming into me over the past couple
weeks is that it would seem like the schools, are not just the breeding ground for this
cult, stealing our children's(ages 5-10) minds, the schools are actually
underwriting the new cause, and helping to spread their religious cult message!

From what little I know of this group, it is an all time new low, from a group that has
many lows, and now show a new desperation in reaching out to kids, almost babies
to turn, and possibly even work against the family values of their parents.

What disturbed me the most, and the parents(7 in 2 days) that have called me, is that
while the schools stopped President Obama from talking to their children about the
dangers of working hard, staying in school, and you can achieve anything if you work
hard. Many other parents outraged over the teaching of sex ed, even evolution. The
schools with the firm support of many school board members are expediting and
underwriting the message of this cult to our youngest minds. I mean let's be honest
any child age 5-10 would do nearly anything for pin wheels, and puppies.

But why are the schools sharing the cost of this effort?

FWIW

I'm glad you mentioned this.

I wonder if all groups would get this same deal. How do I explain to my kids that we won't enter our dogs into parade until the group says what percentage of parade proceeds will be donated? How do I explain lack of transparency to my elementary school children who see a pretty coloring page?

I understand library materials in their bags, I understand rec sports info in their bags, heck I even get girl scouts/boy scouts/adventure guides. But why LakewoodAlive?

How do the schools decide what goes in my kids bags?

Could we make copies of all the information that was left in and left out of the community presentation for phase III and have them put in every child's backpack? I think that might do the community some good.

And while we are at it, what do groups pay to use the schools for presentations? What is LakewoodAlive paying? Is LakewoodAlive now part of the schools? I hate to be a conspiracy nut but since when did my kids backpack become an advertising tool?

This has been going on for a long time and its time to put a stop to it.

Many of the same people that are LakewoodAlive were the same people who promoted the West End. At the time, they were able to put promotional/campaign literature in teacher's mailboxes.

Even more egregious, the school board allowed them to come into the high school to make presentations to the seniors, presumably because many of them were of voting age, to encourage them to vote FOR the West End project.

The same names seem to come up again and again. I mean I knew Lakewood was a small town I guess I was naive enough to not get that small town meant ruled by a small few. Interesting indeed.

Oh and the flyers sent home to the kids don't say anything about who will benefit from the parade. In fact the top says "Lakewood Spooky Pooch Parade". Although further down it does state checks to be made payable to LakewoodAlive. And then mentions it's a 501-c(3) tax-exempt organization. And then there is a website for Downtownlakewood.org.

Why all the different names? Just out of curiosity.

I bet this might confuse a few people.

maybe we should organize a tandem benefit to make sure that REAL non-profits that benefit animals are getting something out of this? When I hosted an inaugural ball, I encouraged people to bring items for several different charities, including the Lakewood Animal Shelter. They got some pet food and rags and even a bit of cash out of it, all of it free-will donations. I also collected for Cleveland Tenants Org and the Food Bank. Food Bank was most popular by far, probably because people know it best.

All along I thought you were talking about the Lakewood Cult Academy. It's not like their members have infiltrated the government, been appointed to high profile positions in the city, vote as a block for each other and put their buddies into positions of power. C'mon Jim that's conspiracy talk....

Imagine my surprise when my son brought home this flyer. OMG!!!!!!!! I am still seeing red. At least my children understand why I am against this.

I had a parent come to up me and ask "So Lakewood is putting on this parade, you are a dog rescue in Lakewood, and you are not part of this? Sounds fishy to me." I thanked him for his support and told him to be on the lookout for my event. (don't know what event that will be...but still)

This is getting insane. I am having mental anguish from this. Maybe I should contact my lawyer about this. I am suffering here.......................... *lies on floor with hand over head*

Who does get to send home stuff with children? Anybody? What does it cost? This could be an interesting income stream.

Are tax dollars paying for this?

What actual benefit to the children does this advertising have? Does it matter?

It never occurred to me to use children as unpaid delivery vehicles, but it's an interesting concept.

We miss so much by not actually having children. We just pay into a state-controlled socialist school system.

Jim

Whenever we have used children to deliver papers, we made sure they were paid
between $0.10 and $0.25 a paper.

It would never even occur to us to enslave children and their minds for the $$$$ benefit
of a few.

I guess we can now see why LakewoodAlive was given the PhaseIII private email list.
They are running the schools. Right now we have three board members that blindly
support LA with access to the buildings, ads, etc.

We have a mayor and at least three members of city council that will give them anything
with at least three running for office that openly admit, "I am a LakewoodAlive person."
It is getting to be like a Koresh Cult.

Time for some serious oversight of LA, and their cult.

Elected officials, the schools, are here to to serve the residents, not one or two people.

To be charitable, maybe the politicians who are supportive of LakewoodAlive just haven't looked at the issues with a critical eye? Confirmation bias is a VERY easy trap to fall into, and it seems to be epidemic in the processes I've been involved in. When the evidence presented conflicts with people's pre-conceived ideas of how things "are" they can be almost literally blind to facts that go against their view of reality. Social scientists have been studying this for ages. I don't think they're bad people, just misguided - and I think misguided with the best of intentions. I do believe they want what's best for Lakewood, just that their ideas for what that means are outdated and not based upon cold, hard facts.

Bbbbut, they are the gifted!!!

We can't question them you know. When you do you get treated like you're a moron and couldn't possibly know about anything.

I guess we're only here for paying them for the privilege of their wisdom and wallet padding - ohhhh those oh so important
wallets.

If someone were to put together an alternative Doggie Do Right Parade I would be willing to volunteer my humble, stupid self, inferior self.
