I think Tonja could have had a very lucrative career in the corporate world. People with her advanced sense of amorality are rewarded well. But I'm not exactly clear how she's representative of the organization as a whole, any more than the moral failings of SC Rep "Hot Mike" Duvall should reflect on the party he belongs to.

It is hard to find a good CPA. Arthur Andersen was unavailable.

When the actress mentioned making 8 grand a month some red flags must have gone up. What is someone making 8 grand a month doing at an Acorn office? Arthur Andersen would have hooked her up with Senator Phil Gramm and the Kenneth "kenny boy" Lay Cabal. Way bigger returns on investment.

I make less than two grand a month after taxes. Quicken Loans were tripping over themselves to loan me money to buy a house.

some years ago I was working a landscaping job out in the sticks. somewhere between medina and seneca county. it was a sort-of-elite neighborhood. very new very large Mcmansions on 4+ acre lots, 3+car attached garages. the house next door had folks driving up all day long. new cars. they'd stay for 15 to 60 minutes and then leave. This happened for at least two days.

You won’t find too many raised eyebrows here on the Deck at those ACORN videos. There are many liberals here who keep real quiet when things ‘happen’ to someone or some group on their side of the isle. Seems like that’s how liberals behave in general, not just here on the Deck. Selective outrage. If any of this was from a group on the right…holy hell would be breaking loose here and in the mainstream media. Strange how the mainstream media ignores it as well.

I have no stake in Acorn. there is the feeling this is being used to villainize democrats or "liberals" in general. Acorn is generally afforded less unapproachability as Willie Nelson's liberal Farm-Aid projects. Acorn wasn't attributed with any spectacular government connections in this video.

As it is, the actor and actress posing as a prostitute and pimp are completely unbelievable. who is to say the Acorn help-desk volunteers or employees aren't humoring them? Maybe they deserve to be fired, maybe Acorn deserves to be dissolved.

Professional representatives(priests) of the Roman Catholic Church have been charged with very perverse transgressions against individuals in recent history. sometimes convicted. We don't call for the dissolution of that Church. There are even bipartisan efforts to prevent them from closing down their old buildings.

every third televangelist eventually goes down for some corrupt scandal or another. they are quickly forgotten about, and new infomercials show up sunday morning.

every year or so there is a news story about some U.S. armed services enlistees raping japanese children. we don't call for dissolving the armed services.

Charlie, You just described the right during the last presidency. Nobody is better or smarter or more worthy than the other. In the end we all just take turns being butt heads ;-)

Our tax dollars, to the tune of billions of dollars, are given to ACORN. You have no stake?

In some respects, I can't disagree Jim. However, what of Charlie's statements was applicable to the right?

When Charlie page is making liberal bashing statements and standing up for the stalwart right wingers, he's speaking for the right.

Roy, You never saw the right stand up when bush and pals were doing wrong things. ( As a true patriot you are surely against illegal domestic wiretapping, Aren't You? ) So no it is not out of the ordinary that when a left leaning group does stupid things you are not going to hear an outcry from the left. The right does the same thing. I am just waiting for the proxy war in space fought over mineral rights to the moon between us an china.

Am I against illegal domestic wiretaps? That is a loaded question...I am against 'illegal' actions. I'm also against 'illegal immigration'.

Some on the right were standing up against Bush. People didn't like his border policy, especially in light of all the OTHER stuff he was doing in the name of national security. People didn't like the statement that we must, how did he say it, "Abandon the free-market system to save the free-market system."

I thought perhaps you were referring to the media, who were far from silent regarding Bush and who have been quite silent regarding these recent ACORN tapes, the 9/12 Washington march or the Van Jones findings leading up to his resignation.

Roy - don't even pretend that selective outrage is exclusive to liberals. You could google the acronym IOKIYAR if you need examples.

We can refer to the media. bush was the president. acorn is not the president.

I don't think I said anything of the kind. Tell me what I'm selectively outraged about...

ACORN is not the president, but as you can plainly hear in this video, they are helping to shape his agenda.

So hailburten, blackwater, other PMC's were not helping to shape the bush agenda? I am sorry Roy I just don't see what the story is. There is a left leaning origination with a few bad apples that have the ear of the president. Eric Prince was a nut job but I am sure not everyone who worked for blackwater viewed the two wars as "god's fight"
