Gatesgate

Professor Gates was arrested for breaking into his own home.

President Obama referred to the actions of the police as "stupid".

Most of us would call police stupid for arresting someone for breaking into their own home. Is this a good use of public resources?

What would John Wayne or the Cartrights do if the police showed up and accused them of breaking into their own home? there would be cross words and knucklesandwiches. perhaps even gunshots. somehow they never ended up in jail.

I have to think that Hop Sing would have come up with an exotic oriental, yet peasant, logical solution that would have satisfied Ben, amused Joe, caused Adam to reflect, and Hoss to be flumoxed.

Charlton Heston experienced a resurgence in popularity when he became the President of the NRA. He feared the state trying to take his guns away from his cold dead hands. He would probably be even more upset if the state tried putting him in jail for being in his own house.

Sarah Palin was mayor of the meth amphetamine capital of Alaska. How would a Wassilan feel if the police showed up and arrested rugged independent Alaskan for breaking into their own home?

Ryan, I assume you're simply engaging in some roguish banter and you really do understand that Gates wasn't arrested for breaking into his own house. He was arrested for disturbing the peace, after the officer had finished his business and was on the way out.

If John Wayne or Ben Cartwright had been caught by the law breaking into their own house, they'd have shared a laugh, a beer and probably a manly wrestling match in the den.

What does this have to do with anything?

Certainly does explain a lot though...
I'm reading about myself sitting in a laundromat, reading about myself sitting in a laundromat, reading about myself...my head hurts.
