Mayor City Hall, Thank you for listening

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

City Hall thanks for your efforts to make the city look better. I was coming back
from another Observer project and was coming into Lakewood on Clifton and as
I gazed over to Highland Ave. I saw some construction.

So I went around the block just to make sure and it is kind of like Lakewood Park,
but bigger and bolder. Hard to believe with money so tight, that our officials have found
enough left over for nice touches like this.

Will really improve that corner and serve as a welcome home for all of us.

On another Lakewood community website, the mayor said no city funds were used in the construction of that structure.

The Planing Commission and the Architecture Review Board convinced CVS that they should add that welcoming marker.

My girlfriend lives in that area of Lakewood and when we noticed that CVS was putting that in we were really pleased. It is nice of a corporation to go that extra mile and do nice things for the city they are in.

Funny enough Jim we also have two Walgreens with one of them just a little south on Highland (117th). If only they had the room to do something similar on Detroit.

Well thank you City Hall and CVS.

It would seem that Mayor FitzGerald is pretty good at getting businesses in Lakewood
involved in making the city better.

Standing O for all involved.

It would be nice to have this at all entrances.

One would really look nice on Detroit and Sloane in the little park near the new Blackbird Bakery! Great job mayor and anyone else involved!
