Roof Leak

Post by marklingm »

Any recommendation for a person(s) who can track down a possible roof crack that may be causing a ceiling leak? Or is able to find the source of the leak and fix it? Thanks.

Any roofer should be able to find and fix the leak, but I think roofers are trained to say you need a whole new roof, rather than just a fix; they may be right.

I had a leak a few years ago and called in Reilly contracting, since they advertised on my favorite radio station. They did a good job at reasonable rates. What I particularly liked was they had one guy who found and fixed the leak, and another who repaired the water damage on the wall and ceiling.

Any roofer should be able to locate and repair a leak. However, if you have signs of the leak inside, such as waterstaining, you really have two problems: the leak, and the interior damage. I don't think roofers will handle the interior damage.

I had a like situation a few years ago, and reillypainting.com fixed the leak and the plaster. They did a good job. I've since had them back for some other work, always with good results.
