Fire in "The Attic" Building on Detroit Ave.
There was quite a fire early this evening on Detroit Avenue in the building that houses "The Attic" and the Phantasy Night Club, just east of Maria's Restaurant. Smoke and flames were coming from the building and five fire trucks were on hand. Does anyone know how the fire started? I'm assuming everyone was unharmed, thanks to our terrific firefighters and police. Didn't this same building catch fire just a few years ago? I was surprised to see it on fire again.

I believe the last time it was the head shop Blue Moon that was burning.

Correct, which it is why it is now closed, but it is still in the same building.

I spoke with Michelle DeFrasia of the family that owns the building, and current manager
of the Phantasy Nightclub and she told me the family is fine. The fire started in The Attic
which is owned and operate by her sister Kathy, and spread into The Chamber.
She said at the time it should not affect the Phantasy Night Club or Symposium.
FWIW
