Isn't the view from the frying pan better?

Post by Donald Farris »

Hi,
What a wonderful time for America!

I know, the economy is bad. But isn't the view from the frying pan better than the view from the fire?

We are still a democratic country with certain inalienable rights. It could have gone much worse. Please read: http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Harpers_editor_War_allowed_Bush_to_0306.html

"We may not have realized it at the time, but in the period from late 2001-January 19, 2009, this country was a dictatorship," wrote Horton in his Harper's article.

"Bush did not order, at any point, the military seizure of part of Cleveland," said Olbermann. "He did not imprison [DailyKos.com founder] Markos Moulitsas. This was certainly not an active military dictatorship, or a dictatorship of any kind in anybody's tangible perception."

Thank God our country continues.
Mankind must put an end to war or
war will put an end to mankind.
--John F. Kennedy

Stability and peace in our land will not come from the barrel of a gun, because peace without justice is an impossibility.
--Desmond Tutu
