I was in the valley yesterday working on my photography homework when I heard loud stomping noises about 15 feet away from me. I didn't even notice this buck and doe right next to me!
I spent about 15-20 minutes following the two around, they weren't scared and they didn't run away since I wasn't trying to scare them. But at the end, the Buck stomped his foot on the ground and gave me a firm look, and I let them be.

Nice shots, but it looks like a cloudless sky?

Snow clouds hang over the water recycling facility in the Emerald
Canyon. This photo shows the light pollution. As a child in the area
when you would look over the Emerald Canyon, the skies would be
pitch black at 11 pm when this photo was taken.

You have taken so many great photos from that spot across the street from your house. There should be a sign there. It could just say "VieW", or "Good place for cameraS".

Nothin' shakin' on Shakedown Street.
Used to be the heart of town.

You just gotta poke around.

Certainly would add to the view, no doubt.

Henry David Thoreau once reported said "I have traveled widely in Concord". When he wrote about Walden Pond, he showed us not so much about a place, but that the center, that elusive center of things, is not so much elsewhere, as it is within our hearts, wherever we live.
Jim, thanks for reminding us from time to time about our own "Walden Ponds".
