I actually thought Obama believed the nonsense he was talking about Iraq. I guess I was wrong.

Im unsure what nonsense you are speaking of. Because there is no indicationn Barack has wavered from his commitment to an exit from Iraq, particularly as facts on the ground are now moving in that direction anyway. And there is certainly no indication he's going to continue the lone cowboy foreign policy of George Bush.
Respectfully, I think the surprise you are experiencing is due to the fact that Obama was never the terrorist-loving marxist ideologue of Sean Hannity's fantasies. And if you'd been paying attention to what Barack was actually saying on the campaign trail, you would know that.

Obama called for the immediate withdrawal of American forces from Iraq regardless of the conditins on the ground, Early in his campaign he called for the withdrawal of American forces by March of 2008.

What year is it anyway?
The Bush policy was to defeat the insurgency, support the democratic government of Iraq, withdraw American combat forces and leave behind a residual force to maintain an American presence on the ground.
That is now the Obama policy. Gates would not be staying on to preside over American surrender in Iraq.
Most Democratic opposition to the American war effor was based on the political calculation that the war was lost and that it was in their interests to hurry up the process so the defeat occured under a Republican administration. They had no problems with the slaughter of millions and the decent of the entire region into chaos if they could blame George Bush. Now that victory has been achieved they certainly are not going to undermine that victory under their watch.
Barack Obama has a Marxist anti American mindset but he is no fool. He will boil his frog at a slow even pace.

That's quite a Marxist economic team he's put together. And its very anti-American of him to say he'd claim the right of hot pursuit if we know where Osama is and Pakistan wont cooperate.
This is pointless. Mr. Call, Im sure you're a swell guy, but you see what you want to see about Barack Obama, and any conflicting evidence is just rationalized away. He's made sensible, centrist-left choices all along; his keeping gates at defense has been seconded by those right wing rags the Nytimes and the Washington Post, and its simnple common sense when we have two wars going.
But you go ahead and get the last word in about boiling his frog slowly, whatever that means. Im done here.

...and to put one more myth to death, the "boil a frog slowly" concept is an urban legend. You slowly heat up a pan of water with a frog in it and he will jump away. That whole "frog won't notice the change in temp" myth is just hooey.
