If you truly believe that was his intent, and aren't just playing an election-eve partisan game, then we may as well move this entire conversation to the Area 51 forum, because that's the cockamamiest thing I've heard you say in some time. And that's saying something.

You're right. He didn't mis-speak. If companies want to build old-style, dirty coal plants, they'll find it economically unfeasible (under either candidate). Nothing in his words indicated a desire to put them out of business, only to adopt new, cleaner technology. If I said 'AT&T could open up a telegraph office in Lakewood, but they'll go bankrupt', it doesn't mean I want to kill the telecommunications industry, it only means that they'll have to face the realities of the new market.

I'll respect an argument based on whether or not it's appropriate to control energy markets through legislation, but not on whether or not Obama wants to kill off an entire industry. It's so beyond credibility, I don't even know why I'm bothering to refute you.

In fact, I do believe that I'm pretty much done with you for a while, Stephen. Have fun posting your straw men. I'll talk to you again in a couple of days.
